Tip of the Day

"Use the water of boiled vegetables for gravy, doing so you get more flavour and you don't lose the nutrients which otherwise drain off with water.."

*Water Melonade

Tempting, isn't it? Don't you feel like taking a sip of these!!

In the scorching heat of summer, nothing refreshes like a nice dip in the pool and a glass of some cold beverage. In summer you crave for something ice cold to refresh and cool down your body.

Our water intake increases during summer.Instead of packaged juices filled with extra sugar and artificial ingradients,it is advised to have lots of soups or fresh fruit juices to cope up with the increased water needs and to provide the body with essential ingredients which hydrate and nourish the body in a healthy way.

What can be better than eating a cold and crunchy piece of watermelon or a glass of chilled watermelon juice......hmmm....my mouth has started watering!!!!!! I think everybody loves watermelon.Nowadays you get them all around the year, but summer is the best time to enjoy a sweet watermelon to the fullest. Its a wonderful thirst quencher,it has about 90-92% water.Apart from thirst quenching, sweet juicy watermelon is a rich source of other nutrients. It contains some very important antioxidants which help lower the inflammation that contributes to conditions like asthma, atherosclerosis, diabetes, colon cancer, and arthritis.(Link)

So get ready to 'Beat the heat with this healthy fruity summer treat'......Nice rhyme.
(I think I should also try my hand at poetry........he..he!!).Presenting to you all......................Water Melonade
